West Bay is the northwestern district. It has a local feel, a mix of homes, villas and small restaurants, and some of the island's best sunsets. Visitors usually come for the Cayman Turtle Centre, a postcard from Hell, or to stay in a villa away from the busier resorts.
From the airport you drive north through George Town and along Seven Mile Beach, then on past Camana Bay. On a busy weekday the drive stretches towards 40 minutes.

- Pickups for boat departures along the north-west coast.
Staying here
West Bay suits visitors who want a quieter base. The trade-off is distance: shops and restaurants are fewer, so a driver on call is useful. See private driver hire.
